Recently, Molecular Imaging attracts much attention at the cutting edge of medical science, biology, and pharmaceutical sciences. PET (Positron Emission Tomography) is one of the most efficient and effective imaging technologies to study behavior and function of the molecules in living bodies
For the PET research, it is very important and necessary to produce the PET molecular probe which can image the focused molecule in vivo.
In recent years, a large number of reports are accomplished related to the development of PET molecular probes and radiopharmaceutical production techniques and it is very useful to collect and summarize the major production method for each PET molecular probe from those papers.
As a first step, we select several major journals in the field of chemical, medicinal, and pharmaceutical field. The major production method for each PET molecular probe are collected and coordinated in a specific format as a molecular database.

This Database is jointly developed and will be administrated by MIC (Molecular Imaging Center, NIRS) and CMIS (Center for Molecular Imaging Science, RIKEN) . This program is supported by "Research and Development of life sciences fields responding to the Needs of Society - Molecular Imaging Research Program - ", which aimed at priority development of molecular imaging research, initiated from 2005 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
