Dear ICCHIBAN/WRMISS participants,This is the first announcement for 5th ICCHIBAN experiment for active detectors. This experiment will be performed at HIMAC (Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba) in NIRS, Chiba, Japan. The schedule for the experiment is,
Feb. 14, 2004 09:00-20:00 Helium (150MeV/u) Here 31:00 means 7:00 on the following day.
Feb. 16, 2004 19:00-31:00 Helium (150MeV/u)
Feb. 17, 2004 21:00-31:00 Helium (150MeV/u)
For the 5th ICCHIBAN experiment, active detectors will be exposed in a wide (10cm diameter), uniform beam in BIO (Biology Exposure Room) at the HIMAC. So, all of your detectors can be exposed to the Helium beam over the whole effective area.
We are planning to characterize the beam with the LBNL ground based detectors (Si Telescope, ToF and NaI detectors) and the NIRS detectors (PSD, SC, etc.) and the information on beam character will be distributed to the participants following the experiment.
If you are planning to participate to this experiment, please let me know as soon as possible. If you will be participating in an ICCHIBAN experiment for first time, you can obtain some useful information from our web site
(http://www.magnet.oma.be/wrmiss/icchiban/index.html).
Please take care that some of this information may be OLD. We hope to update the web site in the near future. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your consideration and we are looking forward to seeing you in Chiba.Sincerely yours,
Yukio Uchihori, Eric Benton and ICCHIBAN Working Group
